Does My Bedroom Need Feng ShuiDecember 21, 2017
Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese philosophical system developed thousands of years ago. On a basic level, it’s a body of knowledge which puts energy at the core of all of our daily activities and teaches how to balance these energies in any given space. From offices to living rooms, feng shui can offer peace of mind and good fortune for those who follow the rules.
This month, the team at Unique Bedrooms will provide you with some of these ancient techniques and will tell you how to apply them to your bedroom, helping you achieve deep, restorative sleep and prosperity.
A supportive mattress
A good mattress promotes good sleep, good sleep promotes good health, and good health is key to a happy and fulfilling life – this is simple. As such, a simple but extremely effective way to establish feng shui in your bedroom is by investing in a comfortable, supportive mattress.
When choosing your mattress, it’s best to steer clear of used ones. Don’t be fooled by the cheaper price, a new mattress will mould to your body over time, offering a shape that’s unique to you, and a vehicle for your energy and your energy alone.
Keep your bed away from the door
There’s a fairly good chance that you will already be doing this anyway, since positioning your bed near the door can make many people feel unsettled as bedtime approaches. There’s good reason for this too – if the bed is placed too close to the door, then too much energy will flow towards the bed and this can interrupt with your sleeping pattern. Instead, position your door diagonally from the door, this will promote feelings of tranquility.
Use colours to promote certain feelings
The use of colours is also an excellent way to achieve feng shui in your bedroom. Using natural colours, such as beige and green, can help promote feelings of relaxation and stability whilst in your bedroom. In order to achieve a good night’s sleep, these feelings are exactly what you need.
What’s more, if you would like to achieve clarity whilst in your bedroom in order to help you reflect on the day’s events, then metallic colours can do just that. Choosing colours such as grey and white will be the perfect choices for this, whilst offering some Scandinavian chic too.
Treat your bedroom as your own personal sanctuary
Perhaps most importantly, you should treat your bedroom as a sanctuary. Your bedroom is a place to escape from the stresses of everyday life, so avoid doing thing such as work in your bedroom, as those stresses will become bound to that room.
